Learner Focused Conversations

Home/Services/Learner Focused Conversations

Professional learning focused conversations are important in building shared understanding.

These carefully and deliberately crafted  conversations that support leaders to explore teachers prior conceptions of practice while building deep pedagogical content knowledge through ‘interaction, negotiation and co-operation’. Professional learning conversations enable teachers and leaders to proactively self-regulate their practice, supporting them to develop ownership and responsibility for their own learning. The main purpose of these conversations is to promote leader and teacher learning that in turn promotes better outcomes for students.

Our highly experienced facilitators can coach you around developing your expertise, guiding you through the process of professional learning conversations, supporting you to build a culture in your school where focused learning conversations are the norm and relationships are able to be maintained, while competing views  and tensions are explored.

We can help you to:

  • develop learner focused conversations
  • negotiate different tensions and viewpoints
  • challenge the status quo
